A man who was beaten and robbed Thursday in the Brandy Creek area chased his assailants to Interstate 95 before they shot at his vehicle.
Two of the alleged assailants were arrested and one remains at large, according to Detective H.L. Williams of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams said in a press release the victim told him he was beaten and robbed with a handgun. When the suspects fled the scene in their vehicle the victim chased them.
When they got on the interstate the victim’s vehicle was shot at. The victim pulled off the highway and waited for law enforcement and EMS. He was transported to Halifax Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and later released.
Virginia State Police, the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office and Emporia Police Department were notified the suspect vehicle was traveling into their jurisdiction.

Carter
Emporia police located the vehicle and took two suspects into custody, Donovan Edwards, 16, of Roanoke Rapids, and Sequan Carter, 16, of Littleton.
Jeremiah Magnum, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, fled on foot when Emporia police saw the vehicle.

Edwards and Carter, who are charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, are being held in Virginia and are awaiting extradition to Halifax County.
