A lead on a marijuana growing operation led to the discovery of 21 plants in the Enfield area Wednesday.

Lieutenant Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said deputies D. Bozard, W. Murphy and C. Dickens began following up on tips received the previous day.

On Wednesday, they continued the investigation and located the plants off Silvertown Road, finding water hoses, buckets and hand tools.

Hall and Narcotics Agent A. Harris assisted in the investigation and charges are pending.
