A 17-year-old Littleton boy allegedly hit a female victim with a barstool, twisted her arm and kept her inside a residence against her will Thursday afternoon.

Lieutenant George Evans of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Kenneth Jarrod Phipps also allegedly smashed the phone while the victim was talking with 911.

Deputies J.M. Clark and B.C. Griffin responded 1 p.m. after receiving the call from Halifax central that a male was assaulting a female in the Littleton area.

Evans said in a press release Phipps would not let the victim out of the house until law enforcement arrived and allegedly threw the girl to the ground after twisting her arm.

He was taken into custody at the scene and charged with second-degree kidnapping, interfering with emergency communications and two counts of simple assault.

He was jailed on $4,000 bond and has a February 2 court date.

Littleton police also assisted with the call.
