The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery which occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Exxon convenience store at Interstate 95 and Highway 561.
Captain Jay Burch said a person described as a black male with a slender build walked into the store and pointed a pistol at the clerk while demanding money.
The clerk complied and the man left with an undisclosed amount of money.
He was last seen leaving on foot toward the interstate and was also observed getting into a vehicle as a passenger. The vehicle was seen heading north on the interstate.
According to a be on the lookout notification the car was possibly a blue Oldsmobile 88, dirty, with plastic covering the driver's side window.
The suspect is described as standing possibly 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, dark complexion and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
