A Roanoke Rapids man and woman who were allegedly stealing toiletries and other items in two stores Saturday were arrested by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.
Detective Tyree Davis said investigation by Deputy Harold Phillips began when the sheriff's office received a shoplifting call from the Dollar General store on Bolling Road.


Stansbury and Ricks
The deputy learned Heather Dawn Stansbury, 30, and Willie Cleveland Ricks Jr., 61, were at the nearby Food Lion where more items such as deodorants, makeup and other toiletries were allegedly being stolen.
Stansbury was charged with misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
Ricks, who is acquainted with Stansbury, faces two counts of aid and abet larceny.
She was jailed on $1,000 bond and he was jailed on $500 bond.
They have June 7 court dates.
