A girl missing since Tuesday has been found safe in Indiana, according to Roanoke Rapids Police.

Captain Andy Jackson said police received information from authorities in Gary, Indiana, that Kaneshia Yvonne "NeNe" Lee was located late this morning, along with the man she was traveling with.

Jackson said the  girl's parents are headed to Indiana to get her.

Roanoke Rapids police are continuing their investigation and expect charges to be filed against the man she was with.

Jackson declined to immediately give the man's name but said authorities believe he was living in Indiana.

He said it appears to be a boyfriend, girlfriend relationship. "It may be a long distance communication thing."

Lee,16, was last seen getting into a dark colored SUV at the Blue Flame on Roanoke Avenue, around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday

Detective Jeff Baggett said two men were in the SUV.

The girl's mother, Jackson said, told police she received a call from an unknown person at Northwest Halifax High School saying the girl was leaving with a man in an SUV.

Investigation led detectives to discovering video footage from the Blue Flame of the two men the girl is believed to be with.
