A Roanoke Rapids area woman was charged Saturday with possessing 62 grams of marijuana and possession of a computer stolen from an area school.
Detective Joe Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said deputies G. Page and Lieutenant N. Aycock were conducting sex offender checks in the Southgate community when they went to a house where they noticed the strong smell of marijuana.
An investigation led to the seizure of the marijuana and the laptop as well as paraphernalia.
De'erricka Keshawna Ussery, 22, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
Ussery was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an April 27 court date.
