The Weldon Police Department reported drug arrests made on March 12 and March 8.

Captain James Avens said on March 12 Officer B.L. Lufkin was on foot patrol at the Orchard Inn and was going to warn some people bout being loud and hanging out when he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room.

Through investigation Officer Lufkin recovered approximately 46 grams of marijuana and .3 grams of cocaine.

Lacey Danielle Fisher was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was jailed on $20,000 bond.

Her brother, Joshua Fisher, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed on $2,000 bond and has an April 27 court date. They are both from Roanoke Rapids.

On March 8, Officer Lufkin stopped a vehicle on a traffic stop and arrested Travis M. Broady, 19, of Pleasant Hill and Frederick S. Kee, 25, of Roanoke Rapids.

Broady was charged with DWI, felony possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was given a $1,500 secured bond.

Kee was charged with aid and abet DWI, felony possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was also given a $1,500 secured bond. They both have April 27 court dates.
