Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a break-in at the Internet Cafe on Tenth Street in which a flat screen television was stolen from the establishment.
Captain Andy Jackson said the break-in most likely occurred after 2 a.m. Sunday and a rock was thrown through the door to gain entry.
Establishments such as these were supposed to have shut down at the end of December but a judge’s ruling in Guilford County said the court found that part of the North Carolina law banning them was over broad and was prior restraint on the First Amendment of United States Constitution and Article I, 14, of the state Constitution.
Anyone with information on the crime is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or the Roanoke Rapids Police Department at 252-533-2810.
