With snowfall accumulating in large amounts in the Roanoke Valley, Halifax County has declared a State of Emergency on the heels of Governor Perdue doing the same for the State of North Carolina.
All residents are asked to stay home as the road conditions continue to deteriorate.
No shelters are being opened at this time. Stranded motorists will be taken to local motels and hotels.
