A public hearing on the proposed sites for a solid waste transfer station for Roanoke Rapids has been set for December 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall.

Tuesday night city council received a report of the sites from Bill Dreitzler, of ms consultants, and the Hinson Street site proposal was taken off the list for consideration.

The top four sites are:

One on Highway 158 by the old airport property near the old Harley-Davidson shop.

One on Highway 158 off Deep Creek Road which is the old city landfill site.

Two on Becker Drive near Interstate 95 near the industrial park in Weldon.
