Friday and Saturday led to several drug arrests made by Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies while on routine patrol.
Lieutenant George Evans said on Saturday, Deputy Joe Puhak was checking on an unattended fire on Eleventh Street in Weldon when he saw two people in a car near it.

Teddy Anderson, 34, of Sycamore Street, gave Puhak consent to search the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was found in the seat where Anderson was seated.
When Puhak attempted to conducted a search of Anderson, the man removed a small plastic bag of a white powdered substance which he allegedly tried to conceal in his hand but was spotted by Deputy C.T. Jenkins.
Anderson was taken into custody and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. The substance was discovered to be .50 grams of powdered cocaine.
He was jailed on $1,500 bond and has a January 4 court date.

Lieutenant Chuck Hasty said on Friday, Deputy C.E. Carroll was on routine patrol in the Darlington community when he stopped Frederick Jerome Bunn, 34, of Littleton for a traffic violation.
During Deputy Carroll’s investigation a search was done and a small amount of cocaine and drug paraphernalia was found.
Deputy Carroll charged Bunn with possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license and displaying a license that was revoked.
Bunn was given a $3,000 bond with a court date of December 21. Bunn has a criminal history that dates back to 1999, Hasty said.
Deputy Glen Teal was on routine patrol Friday on Interstate 95 near Enfield when he stopped a vehicle driven by Dennis Sebastian Zanabria, 20, of Downey, California.
Hasty said during Deputy Teal’s investigation a search was done and he found drug paraphernalia.
Teal issued Zanabria a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia with a court date of February 28. Deputy Roy Viverette assisted Deputy Teal with this traffic stop.

Deputy Eric Johnson was on routine patrol in the Hollister community Friday when he saw Zollie Randell Lynch, 49.
Hasty said during Deputy Johnson’s contact with Lynch he discovered there was an outstanding order for arrest.
Deputy Johnson found Lynch had some prescription medication. Deputy Johnson’s investigation into the medication led to drug charges on Lynch. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance schedule IV and was served the outstanding OFA. Lynch was given a $1,750 bond with a court date of January 19.
