A contempt of court and perjury warrant for a Roanoke Rapids man led to drug charges for him and the woman he whose apartment he was at Saturday morning.

Roanoke Rapids Police officer Roy Ball went to 113 Fairfield Apartments on Highway 125 to serve Paul Frank Lynch, of Deer Run Drive, a warrant, according to Captain Andy Jackson.

He smelled marijuana in the house and after investigating further found 1.5 grams of crack cocaine, 22.2 grams of powdered cocaine and $1,000 in currency.

He also found scales and a hard block of cocaine in a bag.

Lynch, 34, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II, possession of schedule II and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute schedule II. He was also served the warrants and jailed on $10,000 bond.

Maikale Rochelle Young, 19, who lives in the apartment, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. She was also jailed on $10,000 bond.
