The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an identity theft that occurred at the Travel World and Oasis located along Interstate 95 in Halifax and the BP station located in Roanoke Rapids at the interstate.

Major Bruce Temple said the sheriff’s office, through its investigation, has developed a suspect that may be involved with the identity thefts from these businesses.

The crime involves the use of a credit card stolen from someone out of state. A surveillance camera was able to capture a picture the person the sheriff’s office believes is a possible suspect.
