Body armor and guns, along with marijuana and Xanax were confiscated during a traffic stop Thursday night in Roanoke Rapids.
Officer Rich Somogyi also confiscated a slim jim, ski mask, rubber gloves and money during the stop.
Captain Andy Jackson said the stop occurred shortly before midnight in the 200 block of Jackson Street.
Somogyi found the weapons, a 12-gage shotgun and .38-caliber revolver in the trunk and charged Joshue Medina, 23, of Davie School Road, with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a concealed weapon, simple possession of marijuana and possession of schedule IV.
Jackson said the body armor was not police issue but looked more like military issue equipment, which is frequently used in criminal circles.
Somogyi also arrested Ricardo Keith Harley, 18, of Williams Street, for carrying a concealed weapon.
Medina was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a November 10 court date.
