A 42-year-old Roanoke Rapids man was charged Sunday in a September 27 break-in of a storage shed.

Deputy O.L. Wiltsie developed George Wayne Jefferson as a suspect early in the investigation, according to Detective Doug Pilgreen. Several items were stolen from the shed.

Pilgreen and Deputy D.R. Radford arrested Jefferson and charged him with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

He was jailed on $1,000 bond and has a November 17 court date.
