A man who has been on the lam for several months for break ins in the Scotland Neck area was arrested Friday in Rocky Mount on several outstanding warrants.

Detective Roy Rooks of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Alan Horne and Donald Smith allegedly broke into a house on Highway 125 and Lee Meadow Road and took firearms and other items. Smith already faces charges. Horne faces the following charges: Second degree burglary, felonious breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, felonious possession of stolen goods, two counts of felony conspiracy, injury to real property, order for arrest for a probation violation, an order for arrest from Wake County and an order for arrest from Nash County.

He was jailed on $110,000 bond and has September 22 and October 13 court dates.

Detective Doug Pilgreen also investigated the case and probation officer Wade Smith provided the location of Horne in Rocky Mount.
