A Tennessee woman wanted in South Carolina for a probation violation was arrested Monday on a fugitive warrant.
The woman, Kathy Marie Nicoson, 53, was on probation for exploitation of a vulnerable adult, Lieutenant Chuck Hasty of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said. He said Nicoson told Deputy Emerson Carroll she stole money from the victim.
Nicoson was at a business at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Highway 903 when Carroll spotted her. Hasty said Carroll sensed something was suspicious and questioned the woman, learning she was wanted in South Carolina.
Nicoson was jailed without the chance of bond until her waiver of extradition to South Carolina. If she fights the extradition she will have a September 28 court date in Halifax.
