A man who allegedly threatened Wal-Mart loss prevention staff at knifepoint Tuesday afternoon was jailed on $25,000 bond.

Roanoke Rapids Police Deputy Chief Adam Bondarek said Lionel Davis, 49, of Weldon, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, possession of stolen goods and assault on a female.

Davis allegedly walked out of the store with stolen merchandise and loss prevention confronted him. An argument ensued and Bondarek said he pulled out a knife and threatened an employee with it.

The Weldon Police Department assisted in the investigation.Davis has an October 1 court date.
