A Roanoke Rapids man was charged this morning with child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon for feigning to stab a nine-year-old child with a knife.
Charles Earl Ausby, 27, was charged following an altercation with the child, Deputy Chief Adam Bondarek of the police department said.
It was not clear if the child was related to Ausby, who was jailed on $4,000 bond. No further details were released in the report by Officer Gordon Williams.
