A Roanoke Rapids woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly using a stolen credit card, according to a news release from Detective Roy Rooks of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Rooks arrested Africia Frazier, 25, and charged her with felony attempted obtain property by false pretense and felony conspiracy.
This arrest stemmed from an investigation where Frazier allegedly received a stolen bank card from Geraldine Elizabeth Gray.
Frazier attempted to use the stolen bank card at a local convenience store but couldn’t get it to work. Rooks said Frazier and Christopher Bennett went to another local convenience store where Bennett used the card to purchase gas and cigarettes.
There are outstanding warrants on file for Bennett, of Garysburg, for two counts of obtaining property by false pretense and felony conspiracy and Gray, of Roanoke Rapids, for felony financial card theft.
Frazier was given a $2,500 bond and has a court date of Dec. 9.
