The North Carolina Highway Patrol is reaching out to the community for assistance in solving two fatal hit and run collisions.
“We would appreciate the assistance of local media to address this information with the hopes of new witnesses or information leading to the vehicles that contributed to the collisions,” Sergeant E.S. Shaberg said.
The first hit and run occurred May 20 shortly after 11:15 p.m. in Northampton County on Highway 301 north of the Halifax County line.
Quintin Lee Tillery was struck initially by a 2006 Dodge vehicle traveling northbound. That vehicle was operated by Geneen Ann Lashley-Rogers and knocked Tillery into the southbound lane. Another vehicle traveling north collided with the pedestrian on the roadway and left the scene.
The second hit and run occurred July 3 on Thirteen Bridges Road near Enfield.
A pedestrian, Milton Earl Hedgepeth, was walking east against traffic in the westbound lane when a vehicle struck him and left the scene.
Both pedestrians in these collisions were intoxicated.
