Two North Carolina players, including a Roanoke Rapids man, are big winners this week after scratching two popular instant games.
Kenneth Gibson, a Roanoke Rapids security officer, bought his $100,000 winning Mega Bucks ticket at Bobby’s 2 on Bolling Road.He was sitting in the store’s parking lot when he scratched the ticket to reveal the game’s top prize.
“It tickled me to death,” Gibson said of the win. “I never expected to win the big stuff.”
Gibson plans to put his winnings, $68,001 after taxes, towards taking care of his family and taking a trip to Disney World.
Deanna Scott, a Morehead City homemaker, bought one $200 Million Extravaganza ticket at the Jim Dandy on Arendell Street in Morehead City. She fell to her knees in excitement when she scratched her ticket to reveal she won $100,000.
