The general manager of Victory Nissan in Chesapeake has been charged with six counts of felony larceny in Pasquotank County, N.C.
Court documents say Jonathan Davenport stole six cars between July 2007 and December 2008 from an Elizabeth City dealership.
Davenport was a minority owner in Alliance Nissan on North Road Street.
"This is just the beginning of the investigation," Pasquotank Sheriff Randy Cartwright said.
Multiple agencies are now investigating other allegations against Davenport, including claims of embezzlement at Alliance and at the dealership formerly known as Alan Vester Nissan in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
Cartwright did not give any other details, citing the ongoing investigation.
The allegations against Davenport are "absolutely" untrue, his attorney Phillip Hayes said.
Hayes said the charges against his client are because of a spiteful business associate in Elizabeth City.
A Pasquotank grand jury indicted Davenport on April 30. Chesapeake police say they have no investigation open on Davenport, who is free on bond.
A court date is pending.
