The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to interim Chief Bobby Martin:

Thursday shortly after 10 p.m., Officer C. Roberts was patrolling in the area of Smith Church Road and Highway 158 when he noticed a vehicle with a headlight out.

Roberts stopped the vehicle in the area of Cardinal Drive and detected the odor of marijuana from inside.

Roberts learned there was a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle along with open containers of alcohol.

The driver was identified as Keisha Faulkner and the passenger was identified as Branden Allen, both 28 and both of Roanoke Rapids.

Faulkner had an order for her arrest for failure to appear in court in Warren County. She was arrested and received a $500 bond and June 26 court date.

Allen was cited for simple possession of marijuana and has a June 10 court date.

The alcohol located in the vehicle was disposed.

Officer H. Marshall assisted.
