Southeast Collegiate Prep Academy won the District Civics Bowl competition and will move on to this weekend’s Regional Civics Bowl.

Southeast, Northwest Collegiate & Technical Academy, and Halifax Early College competed in the district competition.

“Students showcased outstanding teamwork, preparation, and civic knowledge throughout the event,” Halifax County Schools said.

The Regional Civics Bowl will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Room 401 at Halifax Community College. It is an event sponsored by state Representative Rodney Pierce.

The top five student competitors who will advance to represent the district in the Regional Civics Bowl Competition are:

Chassidy Daniels – Halifax Early College 

Brandon Pagan – Northwest 

Aaron Roberson – Northwest 

Alarrah Powell – Southeast 

Te’Navion Pitts – Southeast 

“Our students continue to show that when they are challenged and supported, they rise to the occasion. We are incredibly proud of their knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence,” said Superintendent, Dr. Eric Cunningham. 

The Regional Civics Bowl Competition will bring together top-performing students from across the area to compete at the next level and further demonstrate their understanding of civic engagement and public service.
