Halifax County Commissioner Vernon Bryant was unanimously elected as board chairman for his 12th straight year today.

Commissioner Thomas Barrett nominated Bryant, who has been on the board for 16 years.

Current Vice Chair Chenoa Richardson Davis was selected to continue in that position for the coming year. Bryant nominated Davis for the position, with a second by Commissioner Sammy Webb.

“I want to express to my colleagues my appreciation for them electing me as chairman,” Bryant said.

Davis said, “I would like to say thank you to my board members for their trust in me. I will continue to do the best I can, and I look forward to your support.”
