Two clean energy education advocacy organizations will host a free gathering to discuss challenges and opportunities for an equitable and just integration of renewables to power rural communities.

The Center for Energy Education and the Center for Progressive Reform invite clean energy allies and community members to its second annual rural clean energy convening on Thursday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 460 Airport Road, Roanoke Rapids.

The free comprehensive event is designed to educate and equip participants with essential knowledge to navigate the state of clean energy in the current administration.

The event, which includes lunch, will provide a platform to share perspectives and exchange ideas. The registration link is available on the flier and events page of C4EE’s website

“It is especially important now more than ever to join in community and discuss the opportunities and challenges for an equitable and just clean energy transition in our state,” said Center for Progressive Reform Policy Analyst Sophie Loeb.

“This event aligns with our commitment to foster education, workforce development and economic empowerment within our rural communities,” said C4EE Executive Director Mozine Lowe. “Participants will learn how education and sound strategies inform real-world perspectives that facilitate and promote conversation, collaboration and action plans, highlighting opportunities for us to grow and thrive in our environmental path toward a zero-carbon future.”
