Roanoke Valley law enforcement reported the following:

Chase

Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday around 5 p.m. the Community Action Team was conducting a saturation patrol on West Tenth Street when Sergeant D. Harrison noticed a vehicle nearly collided with another.

Bismar

Harrison initiated a traffic stop but the driver of the vehicle, Bismar Andrade, 22, of Raleigh, did not stop.

Harris said speeds reached 93 miles per hour in a 45 zone and ended on Robinson Drive where Bismar and his brother, Adaleberto Andrade, 19, were taken into custody.

Adaleberto

The pair have family in the area, Harris confirmed.

Adaleberto was charged with resist, delay, obstruct and two counts of injury to personal property. He was held without the opportunity for bond.

Bismar was charged with felony flee to elude, reckless driving to endanger, driving while license revoked, speeding and unsafe passing.

A trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol additionally charged Bismar with driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger, driving while license revoked and possession of an open container. Bismar received a $15,000 bond.

Both have September 25 district court dates.

Felony warrants, passenger charged

Lieutenant Morgan Worrell of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said on Tuesday shortly after 11 p.m. Sergeant C. Hagbourne conducted a traffic stop on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway near the intersection of Smith Church Road for a traffic violation.

Thompson

During the stop, Robert Thompson, 35, of Roanoke Rapids, was identified as the driver. 

Thompson had felony warrants for the larceny of two dogs. The warrants were issued on August 4 and involve the larceny of male French bulldog and a black male dog, according to eCourts records.

Roundtree

Thompson was taken into custody while Officer T. Stephenson spoke to the passenger — William Roundtree, 40, of Littleton.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed 55.64 grams of marijuana. 

Roundtree was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana greater than 1 and ½ ounces and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
