A Weldon man was charged Monday night in a domestic-related break-in in the 2000 block of Bolling Road.

Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said that around 8:30 p.m. deputies responded to a call of a breaking and entering that was in progress and that a man, later identified as Brandon Eugene Armstrong, 38, had kicked a door in.

Armstrong, less than an hour before the call, had been removed from the property following a domestic disturbance.

Deputies located Armstrong and took him into custody following a brief struggle.

Deputy J. Butler arrested and charged Armstrong with breaking and entering with intent to terrorize, domestic criminal trespassing, injury to real property, and resisting a public officer.

Armstrong was jailed without the opportunity for bond and served a warrant for an outstanding probation violation which carried a $5,000 cash-only bond.

He was scheduled for a first appearance this morning, according to eCourts records.

He has an August 28 district court date.

Sergeant A. Wood and CAT Sergeant. G. Martin assisted.
