Visit Halifax lists the following activities for the Fourth of July weekend:
Historic Halifax, July 4
Musket firing, living-history demonstrations, and a special reading of the Declaration of Independence will be held at the state Historic Site in Halifax from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Town of Halifax, July 4
Each year, the town of Halifax teams up with Halifax Fire and Rescue to put on a fireworks display.
DJ Joel Mayle will kick off the evening starting at 6 p.m. at the courthouse complex on Ferrell Lane.
Fireworks will begin at dark.
Town of Hobgood, July 4
There will be fireworks, food trucks, and family activities from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The gathering will include a variety of food, music, a pie eating contest, a poultry run, and a ceremony honoring veterans.
Littleton Patriotic Parade, July 5
The parade begins at 10 a.m. Lakeland Theater and continues to the Littleton Fire Department. The Summer Days Market will offer local products, produce, art and more items.
Town of Weldon, July 5
From 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. the town of Weldon will host its annual Independence Day celebration at River Falls Park.
This family event will include food vendors serving hot dogs, ice cream, funnel cakes, snow cones and more. The fireworks display begins at dark.
