The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Major Anzell Harris:
On Tuesday Community Action Team Sergeant D. Harrison was patrolling in the area of Highway 561 and Pelican Lane when he observed a motor vehicle violation.
Harrison stopped the car and learned the driver was Kenneth Farmer, 35, of Rocky Mount. Central communications confirmed Farmer had an outstanding order for arrest.

The passenger was identified as Tiffany Nicholson, 38, of Rocky Mount. During the search of the vehicle approximately 372 grams of marijuana was seized.
Farmer was arrested for the order for arrest. He received a $6,000 bond and March 17 district court date.
Nicholson was arrested and charged with felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.
She received a $12,500 bond with a March 27 district court date.

Jackson Street stop
On Saturday Harrison was in the area of Jackson Street in Roanoke Rapids when he stopped a vehicle for a violation.
The driver was identified as Alvin Mills, 19, of Roanoke Rapids.
Harrison detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle marijuana was located in a black bag along with a scale.

Mills was arrested and charged with felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for not properly wearing a seat belt on a North Carolina Uniform Citation.
He received a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to be in district court today.
