The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following:
• On Saturday officers responded to Roanoke Valley Motor Sports on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway. Chief Jeff Hinton said a Yamaha generator was stolen on Oct. 8. Value of generator is $900.
• On Sunday officers responded to a report of a break-in at Java Junction on Roanoke Avenue. More than $400 in cash was taken from the office. It is unclear how entry was gained.
• On Saturday officers responded to a report of four-wheeler stolen from Smith Church Road. The chain securing the vehicle was cut and the value of the vehicle is $1,200.
• On Saturday around 9:30 a.m. officers responded to a wreck at 10th street and Park Avenue.
Ronald Grant III of Roanoke Rapids was charged with failing to decrease speed to avoid a collision. He was operating a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and collided with a 1996 Dodge driven by Annetta Sandeford of Roanoke Rapids. Grant was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center for treatment
Two men are being sought in a Sunday shooting that has left a Roanoke Rapids woman in stable condition with gunshot wounds to her chest and arm, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance in identifying this person. The pictures are still shots from a video at an RBC branch ATM in Rocky Mount. The suspect is using a stolen bank card. The theft of the card occurred in the Enfield area and was used in Enfield, Greenville, Battleboro and Rocky Mount.
