Making the city more efficient and customer-friendly, freeing up currently frozen positions and resuming street resurfacing were among the goals of Roanoke Rapids department heads as discussions on next fiscal year’s budget began during a city council work session Tuesday evening.
A Littleton area man reported missing last week was found safe in New York with family, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
A Norfolk man wanted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is now wanted by Roanoke Rapids police for the larceny of a Lincoln Town Car several hours after the vehicle he and a Courtland woman were in was stopped by a deputy Friday night.
