A Courtland woman was arrested and a Norfolk man is being sought after a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office stop Friday night in Roanoke Rapids.

Chief Deputy Scott Hall said the stop by Deputy D. Bybee led to the discovery of meth, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The stop occurred around 11:30 when Bybee observed a registration violation on a vehicle with Florida registration while in the parking lot of Farmers Home Furniture.

The passenger, Jason Ewers, 44, ran from the scene. Investigation showed he was wanted in Virginia for grand larceny auto and DUI.

The driver of the vehicle, Sadie Nave, 43, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $1,500 bond and March 9 court date.

Warrants have been obtained on Ewers for the same counts as Nave.
