A Hollister woman with a pending court date in January for two counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle was charged with breaking into a residence Monday afternoon, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
One of four escaped inmates from a county jail in South Carolina was apprehended Thursday morning using an assumed name.
While no one spoke in favor of a moratorium on the issuance of permits for new solar farms in Halifax County, several spoke against it during a public hearing on the matter before Halifax County commissioners.
The intent of a 120-day moratorium on the permitting of new solar farms in Halifax County is not to shut them down, but to give the planning board and ultimately the board of commissioners time to study proposed amendments to an ordinance that was adopted in 2019.
