The Halifax Community College Board of Trustees swore in four new and two reappointed members: David Harvey, Kelvin Edward Sr, Ed Martin, and Christopher Creecey — student trustee.

Edward and Martin are respected leaders, the college said, both serving on the Northampton County Board of Commissioners. They “bring years of experience and a commitment to advancing education and community engagement.”

Harvey brings expertise as a retired healthcare worker in addition to serving Halifax County on the social services and planning and zoning boards.

Creecey is the Student Government Association president and joins the board as a student body representative.

Trustees Mary Mebane and Elease Frederick were reappointed to the board, “extending their dedicated service and commitment to the institution,” the college said.
