Halifax Community College will present Celebrating Black Excellence on February 13 at 11 a.m. in Building 400, Room 401. 

This event will feature the unveiling and dedication of the 2025 United States Postal Service Black Heritage Stamp, which honors the musician and composer Allan Toussaint. 

In addition to the stamp dedication, there will be an award presentation recognizing outstanding local African American individuals who have made impactful contributions to the Roanoke Valley community.

The keynote speaker will be Jolly Manning, Weldon High School Band director.

This event is open to the public. Seating is limited and entry will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
