In RVGSL (Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League) action Wednesday reported to RRspin Sports Enfield Cotton defeated All In One Automotive 5-3.
Enfield Cotton:  Emilee Campbell had 3 hits, Hayden Barlowe had a homer and a single, Chloe Long had 2 hits, Makala Chambers, Emma-Claire Ethridge and A'Lexus Roundtree all had a hit.
All In One:  Karragn, Skyler, Teagan, Peyton, Kelly and Redra all had hits.

The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Yellow Jackets Baseball team picked up a road win at Southern Vance on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 12-2.  

Josh Elias picked up the win on the mound pitching a complete game giving up two unearned runs on five hits while striking out six batters.

The Yellow Jacket offense scored 12 runs while pounding out 12 hits on the day.  Cameron Rogerson (double and triple), Marcus Allen, and Aaron Jackson each had two hits while Hunter Connell, Colby Warren, Josh Elias, Bracy Irby, Cameron Salmon, and Peyton Jackson had one hit apiece.  

Coach Mark Snead stated, "We started off slow, but picked things up quickly.  The guys played a really good game today.  Josh pitched another great game and the offense really got going as the game went along.  Now we have to turn our sights to Franklinton tomorrow.  This will be our last regular season game and we are looking to keep building momentum heading into the playoffs."

RRHS improves to 17-3 on the season and 11-2 in the Northern Carolina Conference.  The Yellow Jackets will be on the road Wednesday afternoon at Franklinton.  The JV game starts at 4pm with the Varsity game to follow.

The Roanoke Rapids High school Lady Yellow Jackets softball team traveled to a conference game against the Southern Vance Lady Raiders Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets won the match-up 6-2 with senior Breanna Allen earning the win from the mound striking out two batters and allowing four walks.

The Lady Jackets had 11 hits at the plate with leading hitter Breanna Allen having a single and double with three RBI's. Kelsey Beirbauer had two singles, Haley Farrow had two bunts, while Abbi Carpenter, Cassidy Dickens, Meagan Colston, Kaitlin Rogerson and Michelle Stewart each had a single.

Head coach Steve Milligan stated post game, "Our girls ran the bases well. We hit well with eleven hits and got runners in scoring position.

Vikings soccer rebound for win on senior night

The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings soccer team splits a pair of matches Monday and Tuesday.

The Lady Vikings lost a home match Monday night to The Oakwood School by a score of 3-2.

"The team didn't come out with the energy or heart required to win a tough game Monday night," said Vikings head coach Time George.

Goals in the Oakwood game were scored by Abby George and Holly Forsht.

The girls bounced back Tuesday night with a good win against Crossroads Christian by a score of 8-1.

This was also senior night as the team recognized Halifax Academy 2017 Lady Vikings seniors Hailey Eason, Anna Garrett, Madison Owens and Jordan Strickland.

Hailey Eason was able to score her first career goal. Other scoring included Abby George with two and Whitney George contributing five goals.

The Lady Vikings finish out their season as well as conference play with a rematch away against The Oakwood School on Thursday night at 4pm.
