SALEM, Va. – Sophomore Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year and as such, secured a spot on the All-ODAC First Team. Sophomore Charlotte Woods (Richmond, Va./Trinity) was also honored with an All-ODAC Third Team selection.

Williams has been one of the most dominating forces in Division III Women's Basketball this season. She currently leads the country in scoring per game and, at times throughout the season, led in rebounds per game, blocks per game as well as all three categories at the same time. Heading into the 2018 ODAC Tournament, Williams is second in total rebounds and third in blocks in the nation. She is the ODAC leader for all of the above categories, as well as offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game both offensive and defensive total rebounds and total blocs. She has been named the ODAC Player of the week eight times this season to total 12 in her career – the most decorated R-MC ODAC Player in the Week in history. She has received the U.S Basketball Writers Association National Division III Player of the Week honor three times in 2017-18, more than any other player this season. Including one selection last year, Williams is tied for most selections by the organization for the honor.  D3hoops.com has named her to its Team of the Week twice this season.

Woods is the second-best rebounder in the conference after Williams, pulling in 10.7 rebounds per game. One of the nation's best offensive rebounders, Woods pulls in 5.6 offensive rebounds a game, second best in the conference and seventh in all of Division III Women's Basketball. Woods averages 10.8 points per game, which is a Top 20 mark in the ODAC and second-best on the team. Her offensive production along the baseline has been critical in second-chance opportunities, of which R-MC scores an average of 19 points per game on put-backs.

Williams and Woods can be found atop the leaderboards for most double-doubles this season, both in the conference and nationally. Williams has collected 23 – second-most in the country – while Woods has piled up 11, which is third-best in the conference.

Williams is R-MC's first ODAC Player of the Year nod since Molly Ariail in 2010. Ariail was named the best player in the conference for three straight years from 2008-2010 and won the Freshman of the Year nod in 2007. Williams was last year's Rookie of the Year.

#2 Randolph-Macon takes the court tonight at 6:00 PM against #7 Bridgewater in an ODAC Tournament Quarterfinal game at the Salem Civic Center.
