Halifax Academy senior Candice Smith signed her National letter of Intent last Wednesday at Halifax Academy's gym in front of family, friends and school classmates.

Smith, who has been playing recreation, Travel school softball since a very young age will take her talent to the Division III school William Peace University in Raleigh.

Smith playing catcher and pitching last season for the Halifax Vikings was part of the 1A NCISAA State Champion softball team.
