I was extremely happy for the guys for winning the conference title and for Jacob for winning Runner of the Year and the other three all-conference runners. I was also happy for our girls who ran well together and had five all-conference runners. This came about from the kids working hard and really wanting to push themselves to be better every day."

Roanoke Rapids head Cross-Country coach Mark Snead stated. "Saturday was a great day for our Cross Country program. Both teams ran their best meets of the year on the biggest stage of the season. Both teams pushed hard to finish in the top half of the region. They earned some well deserved respect for their performances. I am proud of all of them especially Catherine who earned All-Region and a trip to the State meet. The way our runners have performed all year makes me extremely proud to be their coach. They have represented our school and our community well all year long."
