The Roanoke Rapids U15 all-star baseball team won it's opening round game in the 2016 North Carolina Babe Ruth State tournament in Greenville Friday night.

The Roanoke Rapids team beat the Henderson - Vance team 4-3.

Thanks too some strong pitching from Ethan Vincent and Cammeron Medlin.

At the plate for the Roanoke Rapids team: Collin Long led the team with 3 hits , while Carson Neal , Ethan Dixon and Matthew Williams had 2 hits each. And Ethan Vincent had 2 hits.

The Roanoke Rapids all-star team will play New Bern at 9:00 AM Saturday morning.
