The Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League All-star teams are still alive in Camden in the 2016 Little Tarheel District 7 all-star tournament.

The Under 8 girls beat the Ahoskie team 11-6 Friday to advance in the winners bracket, but fell to the loser bracket Saturday losing to Currituck 4-1. On Sunday they rebounded with two wins and only Edenton standing in their way to make it to the Championship. Roanoke Valley will face Edenton Monday a 5PM.

In game one Sunday Roanoke Valley beat Dare County 8-5,

At the plate for Roanoke Valley:  Peyton Kelly had single and a triple, Kyla Odom had two singles, Maecy Garriss had three singles, Kenlyn Crowder had a triple, Emily Clay had a double, Maddie Patrick had a single, Shae Johnson had a triple, Sara Vann had a single, and Madison Jones had a homerun.

 

In game two Sunday Roanoke Valley beat Cashie 14-7.

At the plate for Roanoke Valley:  Kyla Odom (lightning) had a single, Maecy Garriss (LA) had a double, Kenlyn Crowder had a homerun, Emily Clay had a single and a homerun, Shea Johnson had a single, Maddie Patrick had a single, Shandi Byrum had a triple, Meagan Davis had a single, Sara Vann had two singles, and Madison Jones (Hollywood) had two doubles.
