The Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association's Under 11 All-Star team season was extended Tuesday with an invite to the Eastern NC State Cal-Ripken Tournament in Laurinburg this Friday.

After last Friday's win over Winterville 10-9 in the Area tournament, the Roanoke Rapids all-star team fell to the loser bracket Saturday losing 15-5 to New Bern then also fell to Deep Creek 6-5 send the Roanoke Rapids team home and completing their area tournament play with a 1-2 record.

The call came Tuesday night that the U11 team did receive an invite to the State tournament in Laurinburg this weekend starting Friday. Time and appointing to be posted ASAP.
