The Roanoke Rapids JV boys basketball team clinched the 2A Northern Carolina Conference regular season championship Tuesday night on the road.
Roanoke Rapids traveled to Franklinton to battle the Franklinton Rams. The Jackets edged the Rams 52-50 to win.
The JV Jackets have one game remaining at home Friday night against Warren County, but have wrapped the conference title with an 16-1 overall record.
Roanoke Rapids leading scorers were: KJ Faulcon with 14 points, Jack Neville with 13 points, Quincy Vann with 9 points, Givontae Harrell with 6 points, Thomas Merritt with 6 points and Deraj Watson with 4 points.
The Roanoke Rapids JV girls lost to Franklinton 18-33.
