The news has spread this morning of the sad news at the Garysburg youth football bulldawg teams loss.

RRspin.com Sports has learned that Halifax-Northampton Youth Football League Garysburg Bulldawgs head coach Emmanuel Boone has passed on Wednesday night. Boone graduated from Weldon High in 1986.

Boone along with his grandmother Ms. Lula started the Garysburg Bulldawgs team twenty-five years ago and has been involved coach football and basketball his whole life. Boone had just coached his varsity Bulldawgs football team to a 2015 Super Bowl Championship November 7th and the JV Bulldawgs to the Super Bowl 2015 Runner-ups November 16th. He had just carried a group of kids to see the Men's UNC basketball team this past Saturday and had been practicing his football team  Wednesday night for a game against Warren County this Saturday.

"Emmanuel's Heart has always been in the right place with the area kids. He has always had the passion for the kids and teaching them the game of basketball and football,"  fellow coach Shannon Pendergrass stated.

Eddie Warren an assistant coach with Boone had this to say, "I just want to say how much a father figure he has been to alot of kids as well as a brother to me. I've learn so much Emmanuel Boone. He can never be replaced. Love him to death."

Halifax-Northampton Midget Football League President Darryl W. Whittle had this to say about coach Boone, " I and the entire League are shocked and sadden by the passing of Garysburg Bulldawgs Head Coach Emanuel Boone.  Coach Boone had been in the league longer than most and was without a doubt an outstanding coach as is evident by his teams 1st and 2nd place finishes this year.  He has had profound effect on not just the players he coached but the entire sports community in the bi-county area.
