The Roanoke Rapids based travel Under 10 girls fast-pitch softball team were in action this past weekend.
The RV Power "04" finished the weekend 2nd in the u10 Gold bracket Halloween tourney with Softball Nation in Richmond.
The RV Power team finished pool play Saturday 2-1 winning 2 games by slaughter rule and loosing to Hanover sports 6-2 to end the day 2nd in bracket X and placing in the Gold (top) bracket for Sunday.
Returning to play Sunday, RV Power "04" opened the day defeating Richmond Diamonds 7-1 in 6 innings. Then defeated the Fusion 4-0.
The Championship game came down to RV Power "04" and Hanover Sports rematch with Hanover Sports prevailing 8-1 in 6 innings.
"Our girls played well this weekend and gave their all as a team! We came up 1 game short to a solid team who out sized our girls but we were never intimidated. Girls simply couldn't get their bats back going in time after playing the last 2 games back to back and not being able to recover from a much slower pitching," stated head coach Jen Ott.
The RV Power "04" team returns to the Richmond area for softball action next Saturday finishing up their 2015 season.
Saturday on the mound was Logan Storey one and a half games with 10 strikeouts and Ashlyn Cooke one and a half games with 14 strikeouts. Sunday Ashlyn Cooke pitched 1 and 3/4 games with 5 strikeouts while Logan Storey pitched a full game and an inning in the final game with 11 total strikeouts.

Saturday's leading batters were Lauren Garner, Berkley Garner, Logan Storey, Ella Howell, and Ashlyn Cooke. While Sunday's top batters were Berkley Garner, Ashlyn Cooke and Morgan Hudomint.
