Halifax Academy not only fell Friday in NCISAA State volleyball tournament, they lost a head volleyball coach.

Long time Coach Wendy Tickle announced after the loss that she was retiring from coaching. Coach Tickel posted this message on her friends.

"Well, yesterday was an emotional day in my coaching career. I have decided to retire from volleyball coaching after 16 years. I have had the opportunity to coach so many wonderful girls and I thank God for each and everyone of them. I am looking forward to devoting my time to my husband, who has been my number one fan, and my son. I want to thank Halifax Academy for all the love and support! I wish my girls well.
