Jackson Pirates beats Roanoke Rapids Hornets 14-6

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets beat Gaston Buckeyes 28-6

Jackets offense was lead once again by Wilkins, Geary and Clements. The Jackets D was an entire team effort with many seniors getting the start. Kicking duties were handled by senior Lee Given and Nate Manning. The Jackets finish the year with a 6-1 record and are excited to start the playoffs.

GCP beats William R. Davie 22-18

The Pride of GCP found themselves in an 18-0 hole just 10 plays into the regular season finale against the top ranked Davie Vikings. The Vikings converted two quick GCP fumbles into scores and added another with some strong outside running. GCP settled down and was able to establish a strong push up the middle behind the powerful blocking of Micheal Walton, Justin Williams and Jamieon Garner. Amontae Parker smashed up the middle all night long averaging 7 yards per carry and finishing with 148 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. TrelQuail Hardie took advantage of the defensive overload in the middle by breaking 3 runs of 20+ yards around the outside edge of the Davie defense. Hardie finished with 86 yards and a touchdown. Raheem Keene added a two point conversion. The final two points came through the air from a Chicale Ward to Jaheim Arrington connection. Defensively Jamieon Garner spent the majority of the night in the Vikings backfield and finished with 8 tackles for losses. LaDarrion Banks and Robert Davis shut down the middle of the field all night for the Pride defense. David Carrillo complimented the Pride defense with a couple assist on special team tackles.
